MMCF celebrates 72nd Independence Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour at The City Palace, Udaipur

The City Palace, Udaipur soaked in grand celebration amidst the echoes of Massed Pipes, Drums and Bass Band Presentation Marshal and Patriotic Tunes at the event ‘Rajmahal Me Band Dwara Rastravandan’ organised by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) to mark the 72nd  Independence Day of India.

Held at Manek Chowk in the magnificent backdrop of The City Palace, Udaipur, the grand ceremony started with ceremonial welcome for Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation in the presence of who’s who of the city. The tricolour was hoisted amid the singing of the National Anthem and patriotic tunes were played by different band groups as “A Tribute to the Nation.”

The Military Bands along with The Palace and MMPS Udaipur Bands delivered spectacular band performances at the occasion. Among them included Fanfare by Buglers, The Palace Pipes and Drums Band, 12 Rajputana Rifle Pipes and Drums Band, Maharana Mewar Public School Pipes and Drums Band, 16 Sikh Pipes and Drums Band, Maharana Mewar Public School Brass Band, 16 Sikh Pipes and Drums Band and Mass Band, who played different tunes and ragas and made the occasion a truly mesmerizing one.

Speaking at the event, Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation said, “We belong to a great nation and we have a long history of martyrdom. Independence Day is a day to remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs and nationalists who valiantly gave their lives to protect their motherland and fellow citizens. Therefore it’s our responsibility to honour them and commemorate their supreme sacrifice.”

Concluding the ceremony, Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Trustee, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur said, “At the occasion of Independence Day we must salute the true spirit of India and let us take a pledge to protect the peace and unity of our great nation.”

आप प्रवक्ता दिलीप पांडे ने कहा कि मुस्लिम समुदाय  के पिछड़ेपन का एक  कारण समुदाय में शिक्षा की कमी भी है लेकिन पिछले दो दशक  से  मुस्लिम समुदाय में शिक्षा के प्रति जागरूकता देखने को मिल रही है  जिसका परिणाम यह है कि  सरकारी विभागों में समुदाय के लोगों की संख्या बढ़ रही है।

सैयद अफसर निजामी ने कहा कि प्रतियोगिता के दौर में  बच्चों को  मॉडर्न शिक्षा  उपलब्ध कराना भी जरूरी है लेकिन हमें अपनी इस्लामी तालीम को नज़र अंदाज नहीं करना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा वर्तमान परिवेश में कुछ लोग मॉडर्न एजुकेशन को इतनी ज्यादा अहमियत देते हैं कि  मजहब को ही भूल जाते हैं। पार्षद आले इक़्बाल ने  अपने संबोधन में  कहा कि मौजूदा माहौल में  लड़कियों की शिक्षा पर  अधिक बल देने की जरूरत है  क्योंकि एक लड़की के शिक्षित होने का मतलब दो परिवारों का शिक्षित होना है, क्योंकि एक लड़की  जब पढ़ जाती है तो वह अपने  छोटे बहन भाइयों को  पढ़ाती है  और ससुराल जाकर अपने बच्चों को भी बेहतर शिक्षा उपलब्ध कराती है। उन्होंने कहा आज इस्लाम का परचम पूरे  विश्व में बुलंद है और हमें समय-समय पर होने वाली छोटी-छोटी मुश्किलों से नहीं घबराना चाहिए ।

Give us a glimpse into the major sports events you have been associated with in the last couple of years and your plans going forward?

Mr. Nitin Aggarwal:  Continuing with our passion to sponsor various sporting events in the last couple of years, we have been associated with Asia Cup as associates sponsors, IPL as official team partners of Kings XI Punjab, Title sponsors for Prayag Cup 2nd year in a Row (India –Zimbabwe), Atlético de Kolkata and Delhi Dynamos for ISL, Delhi Waveriders for IHL, U Mumba and Patna Pirates for Pro Kabaddi league, and lots more. In the last seven years, Prayag has sponsored major sporting events and now in the last four years it has been also associated with sports getting popular at regional levels in India like Kabaddi, Football as well as Hockey. Prayag is also looking forward to tie up with the upcoming cricket series in India, T-20 series as well as the Futsal event in the country.

Are you currently associated with any popular sporting event?

Mr. Nitin Agrawal: Prayag has recently announced its prestigious association with  IPL 2018 . After its tremendous support in sponsoring ‘Nidhas Trophy T20 and ODI International Series’ in Sri Lanka, this is another mega event, Prayag has associated with. Delhi Dynamos in pastas well and has given us enough reasons to rejoice with their ecstatic performance.

What message would you like to give to the sports fraternity in India?

Mr. Nitin Agrawal: First of all, I congratulate the entire sports fraternity in India for making us proud with their wonderful performance at various national and international tournaments. India starts antidumping probe on chemical from Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand

India has initiated probe into alleged dumping of a chemical used in paint and leather industry from Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand following a complaint from a domestic player.

India has initiated probe into alleged dumping of a chemical used in paint and leather industry from Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand following a complaint from a domestic player. The commerce ministry’s investigation arm – Directorate General of Antidumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) – has stated that it has found sufficient evidence of dumping of ‘non-plasticised industrial grade nitrocellulose excluding nitrocellulose damped in Ethanol and waterwet’ from these three countries.

“The authority hereby initiates an investigation into the alleged dumping, and consequent injury to the domestic industry,” DGAD has said in a notification. In the probe, the directorate would determine the existence, degree and effect of any alleged dumping.

If established that dumping has caused material injury to domestic players, the DGAD would recommend imposition of anti-dumping duty on the imports of the chemical from these nations.

The product is a flammable compound and it is used in the manufacture of wood lacquers, auto refinish paints, leather finishing lacquers, nail varnishes and printing inks.

Nitrex Chemicals India Ltd has filed an application for initiation of the probe and imposition of the duty. The period of investigation covers April 2016 – September 2017 (18 months). However, for the purpose of injury investigation, the period will also cover the data of 2013-16.

Anti-dumping duties are levied to provide a level playing field to local industry by guarding against cheap below-cost imports. Imposition of anti-dumping duty is permissible under the World Trade Organisation (WTO) regime. Both India and China are members of the Geneva-based body.

The duty is aimed at ensuring fair trading practices and creating a level-playing field for domestic producers vis-a-vis foreign producers and exporters.
